Common questions

Clear answers, without promises

What does a psychological consultation involve?

A first consultation is a structured conversation. You describe what has been difficult, and relevant history, current circumstances and goals are explored. From that understanding, suitable next steps are discussed with you before any therapeutic work begins.

How do I book an appointment?

You can send a request through the appointment form on this website or message the practice on WhatsApp. Requests are answered personally to confirm a suitable time and consultation format.

Do you provide online consultations?

Yes. Private video consultations are available for clients across Pakistan and for overseas clients, following the same assessment-led structure as in-person sessions.

What is the difference between psychotherapy and hypnotherapy?

Psychotherapy is a broad, evidence-informed process of understanding and changing patterns of thinking, emotion and behaviour. Hypnotherapy uses focused attention and relaxation, and may be considered as one component within a wider psychological plan when assessment indicates it is appropriate.

How long is a session?

A standard consultation is usually around 45 to 60 minutes. Assessment appointments may take longer, and the expected duration is confirmed when your appointment is arranged.

How many sessions might I need?

This differs from person to person. Some concerns are addressed in a short focused course of work, while others benefit from longer support. No fixed number of sessions is promised in advance; progress is reviewed with you as the work continues.

Is my information confidential?

Yes. Information shared in consultation is treated confidentially within professional and legal limits, which are explained to you at the outset. Please do not send highly sensitive personal details through public web forms or messaging.

Can I choose between online and in-person consultation?

Yes. In-person appointments are available in Lahore, selected appointments can be arranged in Islamabad in advance, and online sessions are available where they are clinically suitable for your concern.

What should I expect during my first session?

Expect questions rather than instructions. The first session focuses on understanding your situation, answering your questions about the process, and agreeing what a realistic and useful direction of work would look like.

Can therapy be combined with other professional care?

It often can. Where psychiatric, medical or other professional input is relevant, coordinated care is encouraged, and referral to another healthcare professional may be recommended when that is in your interest.
